French 18th Century Oak Buffet A Deux Corps
Totally carved by hand, this 18th century oak buffet a deux corps boasts not only wood with an exceptionally well aged patina, but also impeccable craftsmanship. The upper portion features two shaped doors with carved shaped panels, circular flower bursts, and a central fluted pilaster separating the two panels. These doors are hung on their original barrel hinges and conceal two fixed shelves. The bottom portion measures 37" H. It has two drawers set above two doors that also boast shaped carved panels and are hung on barrel hinges that close before a single fixed shelf found in the interior cavity. The apron is shaped and decorated with a carved urn with sprawling foliage. The corners are curved and sport fluted carvings. A beautiful antique from top to bottom!
