French 19th Century Louis XVI Painted Bergère

A masterfully carved 19th century Louis XVI painted bergère from France. Nearly every exposed surface of this chair's frame is embellished with fantastic detailed carvings. The top rail of this barrel backed piece is carved in a twisted garland motif with a beaded pearl center and floral adornments. The arms have carved acanthus leaves while the seat rails have a twisted ribbon motif.The turned legs are styled and fluted. The structured green upholstery does show some wear and could be replaced. The carved frame wears antique cream colored paint that is simply stunning. A wonderfully stylish chair that would be a welcomed addition to any room.
