French 19th Century Mahogany Console Dessert with Marble Top
An extraordinary mahogany dessert table with original fossil marble top. The marble is teeming with fossilized monster nautiluses from the Paleozoic Era! This exceptional top rests upon the table's apron, which houses two large drawers that are trimmed in brass. This brass trim can also be found wrapping around the sides of the piece. The front legs contain beautifully fluted carvings that help support the two undertier shelves. Behind these shelves is a mirror that has new glass. The entire dessert rests on four turned and tapered feet that are embellished with brass ormolu and brass capped feet.
