French 19th Century Restauration Mahogany Console with Marble Top
A stately console made in the Restauration style with a gray and white marble top. The marble top has rounded front corners, wonderful veining, and rests atop a large hidden drawer that also functions as the table's apron. The top is supported by S-scrolled brackets that have extraordinarily well preserved mahogany veneer. The piece's shaped undertier shelf is raised on paw feet. The mahogany veneer is in great condition with exquisite luster and patina. This console features a petticoat mirror backing. c.1860.
