French Early 20th Century Louis XVI Stool with Needlepoint Cushion
Extensive detailed carvings adorn this lovely cushioned French Louis XVI stool. The cushion top is upholstered with a needlepoint tapestry depicting a bouquet of fresh flowers and is bordered with brass nailheads. The walnut base is comprised of four turned legs with fluted carvings that are connected by a curved stretcher. The warmth expressed in the walnut is further accentuated in the giltwork found in the relief of the carvings throughout.
