French Late 19th Century Louis Philippe Style Secretary Desk
An interesting walnut desk or secretary, in the style of Louis Philippe, from 19th century France. Separated into an upper and lower section, the upper portion is mounted to the wall, while the lower is a writing table or desk. (We recommend spacing the components 10" apart) The upper cabinet contains two glass-front, lockable doors that close before an interior that houses three adjustable shelves. The desk below has two drawers, each with working locks. The table's writing surface is covered in a well conditioned, beautiful rusty brown colored leather. The table's legs are marvelously turned and lift the apron to a height of 22".
